Recommended Books

There are many books on veterinary care, but the following are books that have been invaluable to myself during my time as an owner, student and whilst working within the veterinary and animal care industry.

Manual of Veterinary Nursing by Margaret Moore - Part of a trilogy of veterinary nursing manuals and suggested reading by the BSAVA.

BSAVA Textbook of Veterinary Nursing by Dick Lane, Barbara Cooper & Lynn Turner - Used by student veterinary nurses in UK.

Black's Veterinary Dictionary by Edward Boden - Often recommended by tutors and surgeons for those learning veterinary medicine.

Ringpress UK 'lopedia Set - Covering most animals, there are several books by Ringpress UK, written by various authors.  For example: Horselopedia, Guinea Piglopedia and Catlopedia.  Giving valuable advice to owners and students alike.

Veterinary Notes for Horse Owners by Matthew Horace Hayes - This book has been used and recommended by horse owners and specialists for over 125 years.

Vets & Pet Health Blog

on Mar 04, 10 at 12:45 PM

March 2010

Hello All,

Spring is almost upon us, which means our pets will probably be venturing outside a bit more as the weather warms up.  It also means that baby animals will be making their appearence shortly as the lambing season starts.

Having your pet spayed or neutered is responsible pet ownership, helping to keep your pet at a limited risk of diseases such as tumors and cancer, infectious diseases that can be passed on through mating, and above all it helps to reduce the number of unwanted and abandoned animals.

Keep your pet safe.

Charlotte
